17.02.2009 - DOXNET vor Ort during the Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne

The DOXNET vor Ort event on February 17th 2009 in the Verkehrshaus in Lucerne was once again a great success. Altogether the board of directors could welcome over 400 attendees.

Newest trends and developments in the field of digital printing was the motto of this year’s DOXNET vor Ort daytime event, which took place during the Hunkeler innovationdays in Switzerland.

The series of lectures was opened up by Peter Dehm, the chairman of the association, who presented the current developments and future events. In the meantime round about 500 members from 170 companies and organizations are represented in DOXNET. New is an English version of the association’s website: www.doxnet.eu. The board of directors accounts therewith for the intensified commitment in the nearby European countries.

Afterwards the host Stefan Hunkeler welcomed the attendees and provided information about the innovationdays. With over 4,000 guests from entire Europe, Russia, Asia, USA and South America the event has established itself as a branch meeting point. Over 60 exhibitors demonstrated with differentiated designed overall solutions, where the development around the modern Paper Processing is heading for.

Valentin Govaerts informed for Xerox about “the opportunities to grow for the digital production printing – and how they can be used”, followed by Thomas Wimmer, Kodak, who reported on “customer communication in times of difficult market conditions”.

„The solution makes the difference“ was the topic of Heiko Jahn, who stood for InfoPrint Solutions in front of the speaker’s desk

After a communication- and coffee break Engelbert Stranegger continued for Océ the series of lectures. In the end Siegfried Alder from Canon attended to the listeners with his lecture “Strength by the use of differentiation”.

Keynote speaker Markus Hoffmann presented rhetorically smart and sweepingly the exciting topic “Advance due to knowledge – Europe’s most successful mnemonic training.” The attendees learned interesting backgrounds about the brain, to train their brain and to acquire playfully for example the names of the ten US presidents.

Already for the second time all lectures were translated simultaneously into the English language. This was also necessary in view of the mixture of attendees. Listeners from numerous European countries, beneath England, France, Italy and Spain could be welcomed. The high number of announcements and the limited capacity of the fairground Allmend let the DOXNET board of directors already to provide previously a separate venue for the popular daytime event. Here the nearby Verkehrshaus in Lucerne was the perfect location.

The official end of the event was also this time not the last point: Interested attendees had the opportunity to exchange opinions during the following dinner party in the hangar of the Verkehrshaus. Unfortunately the guests had to pass on the band for the evening program. Due to the heavy snowfall the car with the artists was stopped in a traffic jam between Zurich and Lucerne
